Happy Father's Day to my Dad!! I was thinking of all the great things about my dad today. From going flying in his plane, to our dinner dates, and talking over coffee at Starbucks, we have shared a lot of special father-daughter moments. My dad is truly one-of-a-kind. He has taught me so many valuable things, and I am so blessed to have such a great person in my life.
Also, Happy Father's Day to my future father-in-law, Rip! I am so looking forward to what is in store for the future. Over the past few years, Rip has continually supported Mike and me by helping us with our home(s), and giving valuable advice... and after seeing his commercial, I will say, the man can act!
This past week I started both of my jobs. Both of them have positive and negative aspects. I don't think I will be in retail forever (hopefully). However, I am thankful to not only have steady employment, but also to have two jobs. I am happy just to finally get out of the house and meet people. I have a new found appreciation for women who stay at home. I don't think I could ever do it full-time!
Mike has been out of town every week since we've moved to North Carolina. This week is no exception; he returned home from Las Vegas last evening, and he left for Winston-Salem tonight after dinner. Having him gone so much is definitely hard on us both. I can't wait for a time when he can be home more. I bought two advance tickets for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter, taking a gamble Mike will be in town that night!
This next week has a lot in store: I am still training at both of my jobs. Plus, we will hopefully be getting our blinds installed (I will send you pics, Emily!). I also have school work to do. My online classes are going well, and I can hardly wait to get that diploma! At first, I thought I would want to burn it and dance around the ashes, but now I think I will just buy a nice frame for it... and maybe put it in the guest room. I am still a little mad at Penn State.
I am going to try and stay busy until Mike comes home on Friday!
Love,
Lauran
