I got up earlier than usual this morning because we are finally getting the last coat of sealer put on our stairs, and the guy is scheduled to come at 8am. Speaking of sealer, I spent the last few days sealing all of the grout in our house. It was actually a really easy process. Originally, the home builder advised Mike to get the sealer that was sort of like a pen. So I did that, but after sealing the grout in the kitchen, I realized I would probably need more sealer for the master bathroom. I went back to Home Depot, and as I stared cluelessly at the selection of grout sealers (I wasn't really thrilled with the type I had bought), some nice guy (who was not a Home Depot employee) came over and told me exactly what to buy. Then he told me how to apply it, and he gave me some really great tips. People in the south are so nice! In the end, the type of sealer that the stranger recommended worked a lot better, and the process went a lot faster.
I had 3 interviews in the past few days. I think they all went well, and I basically got hired on the spot at one place (they gave me my paperwork for a drug test before I left). Although it is a part time position, they offer benefits, which is awesome, and I get a pretty nice discount. The other place is also PT, but it is a supervisor position. I have had 2 interviews there (one face to face, and one phone), and pending the results of the background check they are running, I will have another interview. I can't help but think that this process is a little much just for a job in retail. The final place is a retail chain which I am really not too interested in because they said they could only offer 1 shift per week.
On today's agenda: calling to get estimates on window coverings. Mike refuses to let me go the DIY route. I am also going to do some (more) unpacking.
Very exciting life I lead...

Wait a minute here... first off, I don't have to let you do anything, you're perfectly good at doing things on your own. Second... all I want is an ESTIMATE. If it's too expensive then we will DIY it... geeeeeze, exaggerate much?
ReplyDeleteShut up and come home already!
ReplyDeleteI don't like that your comments are from "Lauran and Mike"... makes it look like I'm talking to myself!
ReplyDeleteDid you get ideas for your window coverings? I have a secret obsession with curtains, drapes, and shades... Perhaps you can feed my addiction - post some pics when you get them up!
